Skeptics, cynics and charlatans: what to believe?

A talk by Paul O'Donoghue.
Wednesday January 13th, 7pm.
Electrical Engineering Building Room L1.
What we believe informs and dictates our actions and therefore may result in consequences that are detrimental to our physical and psychological wellbeing. This presentation will explore a range of systems that vie for our attention, particularly through the popular media and will critique these from a scientific perspective. It will also be argued that the public promotion of science and critical thinking is crucial in society today as a defense against potentially dangerous claims and notions.
Paul O'Donoghue is chair of Irish Skeptics.
He is principle clinical psychologist and head of psychology at Dublin's Central Remedial Clinic.
