Many people are unaware that although they no longer practice their previous religion they are still considered members. This leads to an incorrect picture of modern Irish society and inaccurate statistics. These statistics are often cited in regard to religious groups controlling and participating in, among other things, the Irish education system.

UCC Atheists will be inviting a representative from CountMeOut to UCC to hold a defection workshop in late January.
