Also we might consider asking Paul Gill and/or Andrew Madden to come and speak to us during the year.

you know. i actually love the homeopathic beer idea. i mean think about it. if its on at halloween then there will be freshers that will be under 18 (this problem was discussed on the philosoph forums). so we have a target audience. secondly if we do the simple homeopathic manner of doing things (dilute things into nothingness) it would be really really cheep.

other than that those days are marked. though jan 16th is a sunday and feb 12th is a saturday... i might just sleep in

Out of curiosity, but does anyone know how much someone like Dawkins would charge? I presume he wouldn't be cheap.

Looking at his website i don't think he does a huge number of speaking events, so I'd say it'd be difficult to get him to come to a college group in any case. He's getting pretty old at this stage so traveling mightn't be the easiest for him. I think it'd be less a problem of money and more a case of guaranteeing enough people would come to make it worth his while, which we really can't do at the moment.
If we were to get him at some stage i think it'd probably be in the context of publicizing a new book. I'm not sure how helpful we could be with that, given that most of the attendees we could offer would probably be those who'd be interested in buying it to begin with

He's not that old Gen. And he's immortal... or so I heard. I like the idea of getting Paul Gill to speak. We need to do some more anti-blasphemy law stuff.
